Mid-Grade 72 Hour Kit--Week 5--Important Papers

The mid-grade items for this week don’t need to be included in your 72 hour kits, but you need to gather them. Let me explain. You need to gather your important papers to one central location and have them in a way that you can take them with you if you need to leave your house in an emergency. But these papers shouldn’t necessarily be stored with your 72 hour kits.

Important papers can include car titles, house deed, birth certificates, social security cards, life insurance documents, financial documents, wills, passports, etc. You will need to determine what papers are important to your family. Personally I would store these documents in a safe, but have them gathered together so that you can quickly grab them and go. A folder will be fine, but a folder inside a plastic zip baggie would be best.
