This is another item that doesn’t need to be included with your 72 hour kits, but in case of emergency would be nice to have. Consider making a will and including that with a packet of your financial information. Even though we never like to think of the worst case scenario in emergency situations you will be more prepared if you do.

What would happen if you or your spouse or both of you are killed or disabled? Will your children be taken care of? In most states if you don’t have a will and both parents die then your children will go to foster care and a court will determine who would be best to raise your children.
