You have spent the last 14 weeks gathering supplies for your 72 hour kits. Now is the time to put all of your items into kits. I put most of my items into backpacks. We have a carry-on piece of luggage that we have designated as a “family pack” because it is easy to roll with us as we go from place to place. That has items the whole family will use like the first aid kit, extra water, our important documents, etc. I know a family who puts their kits into rubber totes because they are planning to put them in the car when they need to go somewhere. Assemble your kits in a way that will help your family.
Give yourselves a pat on the back. You now have 72 hour kits for your family! Remember to rotate your food, clothing and medications next year and you will always have a 72 hour kit ready in times of emergencies. My hope is that I will never have to use my 72 hour kits and I will be perfectly content to just have them.
