Starting January 2, I will be posting checklists on how to gather items for your 72 hour kits. There will be a basic kit (things already in your house), mid-grade kit (items possibly in your house or you will be able to purchase fairly inexpensively) and an advanced kit (items that can be purchased to make your kit fabulous). If you were to look in my kits you would find an assortment of basic, mid-grade, and advanced items. For some of the advanced items I only have one and it is in either my husband's or my kit, because they are too pricey to include in every one's kits.
I want this to be easy for you and relatively stress free. Do what is comfortable for you and your family. These are your kits, not mine, and what you feel your family will need in an emergency might be different than the needs of my family.
